Elon University - is it as good as it "looks"?

I've heard great things about this schools.

Affordable compared to other privates.

Is it worth the money Vs Lehigh or Bucknell? Just about 20k a year more for the two Patriot League schools.

Same kind of kids at both, IMO.

That's a really obnoxious post. I know very little about Elon but am familiar with other CTCL schools and think they are great for many students.

List price is cheap for a private but aid isn’t great. CDS indicates they meet just 58% of demonstrated need. That’s atrocious.

PP is extraordinarily entitled.

Why is this obnoxious? I must be missing something.

Don’t know if someone already said this, but there was a pretty bad issue regarding the online parent group With regard to a black parent asking if it was a safe campus with regard to racism. You can google it, I think the local paper and school paper did some articles on it.

Kids in DMV attending Elon are the not ones participating in BLM protests.

You again? You are the same person who says this every time Elon is mentioned.
Try educating yourself about the current school not the one from 30 years ago.
Better yet don't - keep being you.
Read NP at 20:20. Special Needs is not a derogatory term and yes Elon is known for being a top SN school and renowned for SN Experiential Living, like High Point, which is more expensive.

I have a very close relative who is a parent at Elon and was with her in the midst of this and could not believe how hard she came down on the side of the moderators and not the black mother and daughter. I was already very turned off of Elon because of her very mediocre children at Elon, but this was the final straw for me. My rising senior, who does have ADHD, will not even be applying. I have seen very mediocre to poor outcomes from virtually every student I know who went through that school. Do they kids love it there, sure? The rich white ones do and then they leave with very ho hum opportunities awaiting them.

DCUM snarks it because it was set up with a mission to serve bright non-traditional learners, but now it’s been discovered by the mainstream. Who wouldn’t want classes capped at 32 students, a vibrant happy student body, a 91% freshman retention rate, a top notch experiential learning experience, one of the highest rated study abroad programs in the country, a truly phenomenal career office, and a bucolic campus. Oh wait, the DCUM parents who must have an Ivy. Shhhh. . .

Lol, this post made me throw up in my mouth. Insufferable!

I was the PP just above you and I couldn't agree more. Don't worry, most people don't want to send their kids to Elon, especially now that it's racisim is out in the open.
