The only people who care about rankings are those who want to use TJ as a bragging right towards their neighbors and families. For the kids and teachers, what difference does it make? Teachers at TJ will continue to teach a wide variety of challenging science and math courses, and kids at TJ will continue to benefit from such interesting and specialized classes. That's what actually matters, not made-up rankings by random internet companies. |
But teachers will continue to slap Cs and Ds in math and science courses to underqualified struggling students. |
It fell because the old old process was broken and rewarded cheating, but now that they've eliminated the cheating, things should improve. |
Well, there are fewer struggling students now than when some students only got access by buying the test so think you're just mistaken. |
Hi Broken Record! We missed hearing from you for 5 minutes with the same message. Hope all is okay!!! |
No one bought the test.
That is fake news spread by one troll who haunts this forum for some odd reason. |
You have it backwards. 160+ now versus 20+ algebra 1 students before admissions change. |
I care and I’m not a TJ parent. |
I don’t think the PP means that families literally “bought the test”. Many of the test questions from previous years were illegally collected and provided to families who paid for $$$$ tutoring. So if you had the money, you could get actual TJ questions from prior years, and sometimes the questions were repeated. |
Yes, it's a well-established but inconvenient fact for some. |
Sad that you really have to explained it this detail… I believe they know what it means they just play dumb.. |
You are sadly mistaken my friend - the cheating at TJ is unbelievably high and rampant. |
The data used for this ranking was from 2022 when the previous but broken selection process was in effect. Hopefully, TJ will be back on top in a couple of years. |
It was especially bad before the new process helped detoxify the place. |
