2025 data?

Only 28 offered from Longfellow?!

Is this real?

Yes, TJ admissions did a terrible job denying highly qualified Longfellow students.

The entire process essentially boils down to a lottery, given that most applicants from top middle schools have nearly perfect 4.0 GPA, making it a nonfactor for offer decision. The fact that FCPS is having to show fourth decimal place for GPA in the spreadsheet shows there is nothing else objective to rely on.
Waitpool GPA Ave. = 3.9302, Not Offered GPA Ave. = 3.8646

IOW, the essays are the determining factor. Of course they are, they are the test portion of the application.

How are the sob story essays scored and ranked? upto what decimal place is the score assigned for applicant/waitlist ranking? like, 3.7681 out of 5?

for classes of 2023 and 2024 (before admissions change), there were fewer than 10 students in non-Advanced Academics.

Where did the reading, math and science percentiles come from in the cart from 2019? SOLs? Or were there tests did each for entrance in 2019?

They appears to be test scores before admissions change.

Prior to the admissions changes, how many students did Longfellow send? I had no idea it was this low.

I'm not sure of the year, but I know of some top students at Longfellow who did not apply, including one who qualified for MathCounts Nationals.

McLean high didn't do well in science Olympiad this year. Where did the Longfellow advanced STEM students who were not admitted by TJ go?

you sound creepy to keep track of where students go and dont.

10 kids to TJ? Wow.

Also surprised at Lake Braddock MS with 12 and Frost with TS. These are usually touted as powerhouse middle schools. And it's not for lack of applications/interest because as shown the number of applicants is high.

DP. I don't keep track but the information is right there.

In a few years, everyone will forget TJ exists. This is what happens when the ideals of equity are hijacked by one party, for their socialist causes and turning the county education and school system to discount merit and promote divisions.

Probably true. Langley will just become the new TJ

That would be nice, to reduce the pressure, but it won't happen. Sorry not sorry, troll.

There is a separate thread about admissions to TJ in sophomore year. If any of the kids felt they were unjustly denied admission last year, they still have a chance to get into TJ. Check TJ website for sophomore admissions.
