A nightmare to me...everyone looking for their stuff in all the suitcases? Happy it works for you though.. |
Same. |
I have used vacuum storage bags for my clothes and parka while traveling to make space and fit everything into my suitcase.
|
I like them for the organizational piece but also as you travel and start using them, they become de facto laundry bins too. |
How does everything make it home? |
I have my uses for them but I don’t like a whole suitcase of them. Doesn’t work for me. I tried them with the kids’ suitcases and that was a bit of a mess.
It depends on the person and their style. But they’ll probably find at least one way to use them. |
I started using them a few years ago (based on a DCUM thread about them), and I freaking love them!
Then again, I'm the type of person who would watch a movie where someone needs to pack quickly and you see them just throwing clothes and shoes and shampoo all willy-nilly into their suitcase and it would make me feel REALLY anxious. I need that organization to make sure that I both have everything I need but haven't packed things that I don't need. |
Personally I’d be excited to try them out. I actually asked for some as a gift because I’ve been toying with buying them. My suitcase gets so chaotic during travel, so I think they’d help. |
I want to like them. They should be all my inner organizer would love. But I find they work sometimes but not others. |
+1 My husband loves them. He tries to make our kids use them. Occasionally I borrow a couple small ones to house a category of item like socks that I don't want to have to dig for. I have a great soft-sided carryon and mostly pack in two rectangular stacks that are side by side. Cubes wouldn't do much to organize that. These would be an ok gift to try but there is no way to know if the recipient will like them. Like a wallet or a purse, the recipient's preferences could be very idiosyncratic. |
I travel light and have used packing cubes forever. They help me limit and organize what I bring.
If I received them for Mother’s Day I would appreciate the thought that went into it- not the usual flowers and chocolates- actually a meaningful gift. Especially if travel is a new thing I’ll be doing more of due to retirement. |
I use freezer bags. There are different sizes on the market. Because they are clear, you can see what is inside. I guess freezer bags are the OG of packing cubes 😀 |
