Uber eats driver just left a huge bag of edibles in my order

Trash them or try to give them back? It’s an huge gallon ziplock bag of various edibles. Either way I’m not happy because it’s not something I want at my house or near my food.

Definitely call and ask to retrieve them.

Uber support is telling me to dispose of them. I really don’t want them around my house.

You are making this up. And, how would you know it's Uber who left them if this happens to actually be true?

I’m not but okay. I just ordered to go food and it was next to the to go bag they left at my front door. It’s clearly an accident but I don’t want these items and I want them away from my home. I have pets and a toddler.

FFS. Throw them in the trash. This is not the end of the world.

Why not try them then? Give them out or sell them?

Okay. You wrap whatever you want thrown out in a garbage bag, or a taped shut box. Then you decide if you want to walk or drive to a publicly accessible trash can, or if you want to wait until morning to do that, or if you want to wait for your trash day. If its one of the latter two, mark it in some way you will recognize so it's easy to find, then lock it in your garage. Or lock it in the trunk of your car. Take care of it at the appropriate time for you.

It's not going to emit radioactive rays or something. This is not hard.

DM me your address and leave them on the porch!

Really, if you’re not going to partake all you have to do is throw them out (or donate to a person more chill than you.) Girl, calm down. It’s gonna be ok.

You sound like an insane person. Are you 12 and just went to a DARE assembly in your 7th grade class?

If I were you, I'd leave the bag out on my porch assuming he'd trace his steps once he realizes it's missing. If it's gone in the morning you know he (or someone) found it and it's out of your life.

I think OP is asking more a moral question than a logistical one. Is she under some obligation to return this to Uber driver when it is probably worth a substantial amount? Clearly if he left something like his wallet she would do the decent thing and let Uber know so he could retrieve it. This is a little more grey area, I guess.

It does make me wonder a little if this is some competency to deal drugs where you order and the Uber driver delivers and he mixed up your order with someone else. I am not imaging a scene in which intimidating drug lords come looking for the missing stash, a la Weeds or that new British show.

Drop them off at a police station.

I would be afraid someone is going to come back for them and be mad that OP threw them out. I can also see her concern with having something that looks like candy or cookies around a toddler.
