No, really, you have to win the PHR competition. Check with your little league. They will announce when it is this spring. I am not sure the age groups, but believe everyone under 12 can participate.

Thanks all...I signed him up for the local jr. home run derby contest. I guess if he makes it he'll get to SHAG some balls.

No, not British. I am 82 and in the 50’s played girls softball as a kid. That is the term our coaches used during practice. They were not British either.
