What else looks like chicken pox?

Anonymous
DD has been getting these little bumps on her legs and feet over the past few days. My mother commented that it looks like chicken pox. I googled and they look exactly like the early stage chicken pox depicted here: http://www.sarahwoodbury.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/symptoms-of-chicken-pox-300x203.jpg . DD is 21 months old and is up to date on all vaccines. Is there anything else that could cause this?

She has felt a little warm at times over the past couple days and has had her hands in her mouth a lot so I attributed it to teething. She is acting pretty normal, maybe a little more tired than usual. I took her temp last night and she did not have a fever, but she didn't feel particularly warm then either.

Reaction from amoxicillin. Or, a million other things. We had a rash that kinda looked like chicken pox and kinda not.

We had scarlatina : ( I thought it was chicken pox (this was before the vaccine was required.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. There are 2-3 other threads on this right now. It's going around. - mother of a toddler who got it.

Sorry,OP.

PP, can she wait until Tuesday to see her pediatrician or does she need to go to urgent care?

She seems totally fine aside from the bumps. I noticed 4 of them on her legs yesterday and today there are 3-4 more on her feet and legs.

Hfm is usually no big deal, according to our pediatrician. He told us to give our toddler tylenol or ibeprofin if he was uncomfortable and to just make sure he stayed hydrated because some kids don't drink enough. Due to painful mouth sores, and popsicles are a good way to get liquid into them in that case. My DS's case last month started out as op described, and looked horrible, but he really felt fine.

I would take to the ped on Tues to confirm hfm and get a note about. When your kid can return to daycare if applicable.

I second all that except we didn't go to the ped. I called them, and they told me when she could return to daycare (and when I'd need to bring her in, but that proved to be unnecessary).

When was that? When the spots disappeared or just after the fever was gone for 24 hours? Our DC has been fever free for many days but is super spotty and even has pussy spots yet to burst. Wondering when to send her back.
