Why does middle school not allow students to take their backpacks to class?

I dunno, but I’m my ms they don’t allow backpacks In the classrooms so I have to carry my big ahh binder everywhere. Maybe it’s for safety reasons.

Depends on the school. Some MS carries backpack.

As a middle school student I think that students should be able bring backpacks to class. I think that it won’t be a distraction. but if their is a problem the teacher can make them put their backpack in the locker. I think us students can take our backpacks to class.

No that’s not it. Our private school also doesn’t allow kids to take their backs to class.

What does private schools have to do with it? Private schools get shot up, too. It's not like they're some oasis of safety.

Pluses to backpacks: They always have all their stuff, no excuse for being late "my locker wouldn't open"

Minuses to allowing backpacks: The hallways are JAMMED. Backpacks make it even worse. The backpacks are heavy with multiple binders. Classrooms of 30+ kids are a horrific tripping hazard with backpacks and stuff everywhere.

All of this. Another plus for backpacks: schools can allot less passing time between classes since students don't need to stop at their lockers before the next class.
