These kids are not anarchists. They are paying north of six figures for college tuition. They can camp wherever they want on campus. As long as they aren’t hurting people , they are well within their rights which is why police can’t arrest them. They aren’t trespassing on private property.

I think most people have zero problem with students protesting and camping. But if the university says, please disperse, and they don’t, then it is trespassing, and they should be arrested.

It’s their legal right as an American to peacefully assemble and protest
. They shouldn’t be arrested if they are civil.

If the colleges were honest, they’d expel them for not following disperse rules but they can’t have that and lose money can they?

Not on private property, it isn't.

He made several statements including on Thursday

So, when you say "where is Biden," what you should really be saying is "why aren't my sources of information giving me a more complete story" because this was pretty widely covered.

When I looked up the Hanas flag, that headband imagery isn’t what I saw. So, false.

It was real enough that Stanford turned photos of it to the FBI but continue your denialism.

I’m not saying the headband doesn’t have a meaning that’s problematic (can’t say one way or another), I’m merely saying it didn’t match what I saw when I looked up the flag.

Also, the fact of Stanford reporting it doesn’t mean anything. All that required was someone like you contacting them, doing the usual “you’re not protecting Jewish students!” hysterics, and demanding they report it to the FBI.

Man. Your refusal to see facts is remarkable.

Facts? Where are they? List some facts as you see them.

DP. Just Google Hamas headband and look in images. You'll see scores of headbands that look just like this one.

On Sunday, an X user called “GarbageHuman,” known for writing racist and antisemitic content, shared a New York Post article criticizing journalist Maura Judkis as soft on crime. GarbageHuman’s post about the article signaled to followers that Judkis is Jewish.

Hours later, Collins replied to GarbageHuman’s post, writing, “Never was a second thought.” The reply suggested that Collins was also flagging Judkis’ Jewish identity.

He is the same congressman praising the racists at Old Miss. What strange bedfellows these pro Israeli mob make.

When something is resonate of truth my only reaction is horrified. This is not comedy.

What part of criticizing a foreign government involves destroying an American university library?

+100
And blocking freeways and harassing police, among other things.

DP. If a student had been wearing a KKK robe or other offensive costume, you'd be the one in hysterics. The PP was simply reporting something that happened. Anyone wearing Hamas garb absolutely should be reported to the FBI.

You know, you keep frantically attempting ageist insults all over the place to desperately keep your propaganda bubble in place, but the fact is that the protestors are widely despised across all age groups. I’m no boomer, either. Just someone who sees how pathetic you are. When you have to resort to ageism to just pretend you’ve got an argument, you have nothing to stand on whatsoever.

You and your cohort have lost. You are disliked, have alienated most Americans, have managed to do nothing but drive support away from Gaza, have given the Republicans a gigantic electoral gift, and have largely managed to convince vast swaths of the electorate that you are all entitled nutcases. No amount of ageist insults can stop that truth from spreading at this point.

Well said.

The side opposed to Israel’s actions and calling from an immediate ceasefire on humanitarian grounds is already starting from the high ground of having just about every other nation in the world, save the U.S., in full accord with their position. At this point, Israel and the U.S. are isolated on that front.

DP. I find it beyond bizarre that you and the people you're defending (pro-Palestinian protesters) haven't called on HAMAS to step up, return the hostages, and agree to a ceasefire. Why is that?

Pencils, books, laptops, those are the tools of students and what you expect to find on a college campus. But here’s what the NYPD found in Hamilton Hall at Columbia University after we were able to arrest the protestors and agitators for commandeering and barricading themselves inside the building. Gas masks, ear plugs, helmets, goggles, tape, hammers, knives, ropes, and a book on TERRORISM. These are not the tools of students protesting, these are the tools of agitators, of people who were working on something nefarious. Thankfully, your NYPD was able to prevent whatever they were planning and stop them before they could do it. Continue to peacefully and lawfully protest; but know that if you engage in illegal conduct, the NYPD will hold you responsible and hold you accountable—someone has to.

Just disgusting. Anyone still claiming these were "peaceful protests" needs their head examined. Good for the NYPD.

Did you just write this today? Because you seem to have missed a week's worth of news. And no, they can't camp wherever they want on campus. Nor can they commandeer a building. But apparently, these spoiled brats *can* have their student loans forgiven.

“ UVA and Virginia state police are raiding the Gaza solidarity encampment next to the Rotunda. They literally changed the bylaws, which previously permitted tents, a few hours ago. The encampment had been going quietly for several days. It seemed like they were going to do this raid last night, but they didn’t. It seemed they were relenting, or maybe giving a reprieve for the rain. (It was raining hard.) Now seems like they had to change the rules. Seems … illegal? Worth noting that this is immediately adjacent to the place the Nazi tiki torch rally happened in 2017. The police did not stage anything like this response to that one, even though the Nazis were beating and pepper spraying people.“

Anonymous wrote:My DD is a senior at UCLA. At first, the protest was peaceful and she would say that the protesters had the support of a lot of the students who truly believe that there is needless killing happening on a large scale in Gaza. I was on campus last weekend and walked around Royce Quad. The encampment was pretty small and contained with barriers and limited entrances and exits. They were not blocking sidewalks and anyone could move around the area freely. I saw security at the entrances checking student IDs when students entered the encampment. Even on Sunday, when a large pro-Israeli counter-protest was organized, it was pretty civil and orderly.

That began to change on Monday and Tuesday, when the encampment encroached on the sidewalks and blocked access to Royce Halla and the Powell Library (it is mid-terms and students couldn't get into the library to study). The protesters started to interfere with students, professors, and staff who were trying to go about their day and attend classes on campus. Of course, Thursday night a lot of outsiders came onto campus and violence broke out.

The University had to make the difficult decision to go in and remove the encampment even though they knew it would be a horrible optic. Many people in the UCLA community feel they waited too long. The one thing that hasn't gotten a lot of coverage is the absolute health hazard the encampment had become (probably the same on other campuses too - not sure). In addition to all the trash and rotting food piling up, it was saturated with urine and feces. Apparently they were literally shitting in buckets or wherever they could in the encampment. If you look at the clean-up videos from Thursday, the protesters totally TRASHED the most iconic and beautiful part of the campus. They sprayed graffiti (INTIFADA) all over the walls and floors of Royce Hall - which is the most iconic building on campus. There is NO EXCUSE for this behavior - I don't care which side of history you're on It makes me sick that they are only getting a slap on the hand. The vandals should be expelled and prosecuted.

In six weeks, my DD and her classmates (most of whom started out supporting the protesters) will graduate in Royce Hall. Let's hope the class of 2024 (high school class of 2020 who all had their high school graduations canceled) can graduate in peace.

I live in LA and watching local news, saw the grotesque mess left behind. Unbelievable! And the many POC employees cleaning up after them.
