I’m on a trip to a rural area and can’t see a doctor soon.
What can I do to relieve tightness and pressure in my neck? Lying down feels the best but so can’t remain flying down all day. It’s like the tightness intensifies if I am upright. I might be able to find a massage therapist here and I can do stretches. Any suggestions for stretches or anything else that would help? I didn’t have this until the day before I left and would like to enjoy this vacation! |
Get a neck brace from the drugstore and wear it in your hotel room when you're alone to let your neck muscles relax. At my worst, I even slept in it. Make sure your pectoral muscles are well stretched too. That and Advil should give you relief. |
Omg go to a doctor
Stop asking randos on the internet |
go online and google. Thousands of exercises |
If there’s a particular muscle group bothering you, I would get a pain patch at a drugstore. Either heat, which is therapeutic, or something like Salonpas. |
Take ibuprofen. You can go double the amount to get to prescription strength. |
Massage can help, along with gentle stretching, and physical therapy. Dry needling if nothing else works. |
Thank you! There's a CVS here so I can look for a neck brace there. To others, yeah, I looked up neck exercises and did those but they didn't help. After a night of sleep and a hot shower, it's a lot better, thank goodness!! Today, I woke up and tried different stretches and some yoga poses to bring blood into my neck, and those helped a lot. Sometimes, it seems like blood is not going into my neck. I read that can be due to Dysautonomia: https://thedysautonomiaproject.org/coat-hanger-phenomenon-the-pretzel-leg-sign/ |
I get serious neck pain if I look down at my phone too much |
Update
My neck tension is gone! Thank you all! I’ll keep doing the exercises, drinking enough water and so on. I added somatic exercises today. Feeling so good. OP |
